When we come to your property.

When we come to your property you can be assured that you have the most highly trained and experienced mold professionals in the area. We are privately owned, not franchised. We specialize in mold inspections and mold remediation. We are certified by the IICRC, ESA, IOT, and MICRO to perform both mold inspections and mold remediation. We are not a home inspector trying to provide mold inspections as an additional service and we are not a water damage company trying to scare you into a remediation project.

When we arrive at your home on time and prepared we understand that being discrete is important to you. We do not have any logos or other identifying symbols on any of our trucks or vehicles. This is unlike most of our competitors that emblazon their logo on their vehicle in front of your home announcing to all your neighbors that you have a mold problem. You can be assured that throughout the process that we are trained professionals and make every effort to keep you accurately informed and your home safe.

If you are looking for a guy with a bucket and bleach, we are not that company. There is currently one state that requires that mold professionals be certified, that is Texas. Florida will be the next state with requirements. We already exceed both those states requirements and most certainly will exceed North Carolina’s requirements when they are implemented. We carry a full line of General Liability and Errors and Omissions insurance on both the mold inspection and remediation components of our business.

What you can expect from us.

When you contact us for a mold inspection we know in most cases that time is of the essence. We can usually schedule your mold inspection within 2 working days from our initial contact. Our inspection process is thorough and complete and you do not have to be present during this process, all we require is access to your home. During the inspection we go to all accessible areas of your home and look for visible signs of mold as well as any current or previous moisture intrusions. We will take temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and moisture content reading in these areas. All our inspection methods are non-destructive and we do not leave anything behind. The inspection process normally takes between 1-2 hours in your home.

Mold requires 3 elements in order to grow. First is a food source and homes have a lot of cellulose products which provide a perfect food source. Secondly mold requires air to survive. The last requirement is moisture. This is the one element that is the easiest to control in your home. There are thresholds of moisture for mold growth that we look for during the inspection process. If either one of the following thresholds are observed during our inspection we will make you aware of the readings and the areas where we found this along with possible solutions.

Relative humidity ranges above 60% will support mold growth. Moisture content ranges in structures above 18% will support mold growth. We also check dew points indoors and outdoors this helps us form a better picture of what is going on in your home. Optimal temperature ranges for mold growth are 40-140 degrees F. Our sampling methods are termed as non-viable sampling. The difference between viable sampling vs. non-viable sampling is that viable sampling is cultured and non-viable sampling is not cultured. Cultured sampling takes a minimum of 14 days before results can be determined, and they are much more expensive than non-viable sampling. Non-viable sampling is an accepted industry sampling method.

After we receive the results from the lab we can email, fax or regular mail them to you. After your review of the results we are always available to discuss the results and answer your questions. Our commitment to you is that we will not discuss the results with anyone other than you unless you provide us with written authorization to do so.

Remediation process

During the remediation process we strive to keep you accurately informed. We follow the most recently adopted processes for mold remediation, the S520 standard that was developed by the nations leading professionals in the field of mold. It included professors, instructors, laboratory experts, indoor air quality professionals, and other accepted experts in the mold fields.

We can develop a protocol to follow during the remediation process or you can employ the services of an industrial hygienist (IH) to develop a protocol for us to follow. Any deviations from the protocol are discussed with you prior to this happening. We own and maintain all our equipment used in the remediation process. This should be important to you because you are assured that this equipment is meticulously cleaned by our employees after every remediation project to be sure that we do not bring any contaminants from previous jobs into your home, instead of trusting untrained rental company employees with such an important task.

Before we begin any remediation project, we will contain the affected area using accepted methods for containment. This keeps the rest of your home from being cross contaminated and we make every effort to maintain this throughout the remediation process.

Unlike most other companies, we will provide you with laboratory samples after the remediation is complete to give you the necessary assurance that we did return your property to a condition 1 status as defined by the S520 standard for mold remediation professionals.
